Almost every primary material used in the global printing industry, such as paper, cardboard, cardboard packaging, polymers and hybrids, whether printed, unprinted, laminated or coated, can be processed from 30 to 1,100 GSM.
Multi-layer laminates made of PC, PVC or similar substrates can be counted in a range from 40 µm to 900 µm.
Regardless of the coating, whether high-gloss or matt finish, our discs can handle the majority of the end products.

Advantages and features of the disc counting technology
Our counting machines are used to determine the exact number of sheets in a layer. Similar to the machines from Vacuumatic or GTS, the counting process takes place from top to bottom or from bottom to top, depending on the machine design and requested type of application. The corner or the side edge of a single sheet is sucked onto the rotating counting disc by means of vacuum, thereby separated from the rest of the layer, and then guided through a gap to the top of the disc. While the sheet is in the gap, a signal is generated and the sheet is thus physically counted. The counting disc works its way through the layer sheet by sheet. Depending on the type of counting disc, up to 6 sheets can be sucked in and counted absolute accurate in one revolution.
For products with different stiffness, GSM values or thickness, there are different counting discs types and designs; eg. a 30 GSM product requires a different counting disc design than a 1.100 GSM product or a 40µm product .
The maximum counting speed also depends on the product to be counted. With our machines and counting discs, a counting speed of more than 200 absolute accurate counts per second can be achieved, an unique feature.
